Amy Perez no longer renewed her contract with TV5. The former Kapamilya who transferred to TV5 in 2010 and popularized the show Face to Face, cited personal reasons for leaving the Kapatid network. However, previous reports say that Tyang Amy (as she is fondly called) had already resigned from Face to Face back in July when she had a misunderstanding with members of the show's production staff.
Face to Face was set to go back on air with a new format and title (Face the People), this time, to be hosted by Amy Perez and Gelli de Belen. Gelli pitched in as host when Amy gave birth last year. Now that Amy has formally left the network, it will be Tintin Bersola-Babao who will be taking her place as Gelli's co-host. Consequently, Amy will no longer be seen in her other show, "The Good Morning Club" nor be heard on her radio program on Radyo Singko DWFM 92.3FM. According to a tweet that she had posted, she has already moved to another radio station, 106.7 Energy FM.
In view of this recent development, TV5 has released their official statement saying, "TV5 Management and Ms Amy Perez have mutually agreed to part ways. TV5 respects the decision of Ms. Perez to leave the Network due to personal reasons. She had been a valuable talent of TV5 and we wish her well and the best of luck in her future endeavors."
